Arizona Recommended Roofers

I got a HUGE response last week (6/23/05) when I asked readers for personal references to Arizona A/C guys and roofers. THANK YOU!

I got a lot of good referrals for A/C guys and a few for roofers. It looks like there aren't as many good roofers as A/C guys.

Anyway, the list is excellent and a few readers asked to see it. The list for the roofer guys is below. Here is the list of recommended Arizona air conditioning guys.

We discovered a leak and were in panic to get it repaired before the monsoon season.  After a lengthy search for a roofing company, I felt like it was a "pick a name off a list" project.    My neighbors last year put on a home addition and used Aspen Valley Contractors, with whom they were quite pleased.  I called the owner and he referred me to Rick Thomas Roofing, whom he only uses because of his great work.  I checked him out with the Registrar of Contractors and he is A-OK.   I also checked the approved list of roofers and he is on it.   I phoned them and arranged for an estimate by Mr. Thomas.  They were backed up due to many roofing problems people incurred because of the February rains.  At that time, they were only taking referrals.  I believe they are somewhat caught up with the work flow, as my job was four weeks out and they came two weeks later and did the job quickly, efficiently and were particular about the clean-up.   They offered me a five-year warranty and ended up doing more than the estimate once they really got into the job and had to remud the peaks.  I was not charged extra.  I recommend them highly.  Carol

• We had a new roof and 2 new AC/heat units installed in March of this year.  We did it through Home Depot and they did an excellent job.  Everything was done and they were out of here in 3 days time.  We also did the whole project on a plan where we don't have to pay for it for a full 12 months.    My husband and I were very pleased with their professionalism, their responsiveness to our many questions and how on schedule they turned out to be.  We used the Home Depot on Carefree Highway.    Dee

• Re a roof guy: I wouldn't use anyone except Kiko Roofing. After the storm in 1996 they were the only people who would even talk to me. They were polite and professional. • John,   I would like to thank you for the list of roofers and A/C guys.  Unfortunately, I hired XXXXX back in May.  The job is still not complete and they started it two weeks ago.  I’ve got water damage from them not properly covering my roof during the rain last week and one night they covered the A/C with plastic so I had no A/C for the night.  They have made a complete mess all around my house.  ...   Again, thank you for the service you provide.   Regards, Marsha
